Our trip coincided with our wedding anniversary on March 5th. This was our first time in Japan, though we have hoped to go there for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>Finnair flies direct from Helsinki to Narita in less than 10 hours. From Narita we took a train to Ueno as our hotel was in Asakusa area in Tokyo. On our first day we took a water bus down Sumidakawa to xxx garden where we saw the first cherry blossoms. Next day we visited Ueno park and National museum. As a Martial Artist I was of course very interested in japanese swords and armour on display there.<\/p>\n<h3>Kyoto<\/h3>\n<p>From Tokyo we took shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto where we visited Nijojo castle of the shoguns and many teples and their gardens. Especially wonderfull was the moss garden of Ginkakuji.<\/p>\n<p>Japanese food is great. Most days we were content to just get some sushi from a sushiya that was conveniently located on our way from subway station to our Tokyo hotel.
